CCASA facilitates a variety of workshops for adults as well as for children and youth on the topics of sexual assault, sexual abuse, and sexual harassment. Workshops are available to organizations or community members in groups of 10 or more.

This workshop examines the intersection of sexual violence and domestic violence, and how to provide support to anyone impacted.

Participants will gain an understanding of:

  • The tools for providing a supportive and empathetic response
  • The ability to identify barriers in supporting someone’s decisions
  • The history, perceptions, and complexity of intimate partner sexual violence

We will delve into the reasons that men are responsible for the majority of sexual violence with a close examination of societal standards and expectations of masculinity.

Participants will gain the tools to identify, critique, and intervene in the harmful messages about masculinity that contribute to sexual violence.

This workshop is for anyone who is interested in being a part of the ever-growing conversation about men and masculinity.

Through discussion, conversation, and an exploration of complex concepts that are the foundation of sexual violence, participants will be able to gain new tools to apply to their work and/or deepen their understanding of tools they’re already using.

  • Their own lived experience in this world
  • The root causes of sexual violence
  • Self-reflect on their own perspectives and the work they do

Clinical Workshop

This workshop provides theoretical frameworks for understanding sexual violence, principles for effective sexual violence support, and tools for supporting people who have experienced sexual violence in a clinical context. Delivery is flexible, depending on the needs of the group, and can be offered in a number of formats, from 1 hour lunch and learns to multi session trainings, both remote and in person.
